This afternoon I’ll be reading from Castle of Shadows and City of Thieves in the Story-telling tent at the Paignton Green Festival. My friend, Steve Hartley will be there too, talking about his Danny Baker, Record Breaker books. Should be loads of fun.
I spent last week in Oxfordshire on a writing retreat with fellow members of the Scattered Authors Society. We wrote a bit, thought a great deal and shared ideas and experiences about writing. In between we ate wonderful food. I’ve come back full of carbohydrates, ideas and energy. Can’t wait to go back next...
Thank you to the lovely folks at Orchard Books for inviting me to their summer lunch party in London today. I had a fabulous time and could happily have spent another three hours talking about children’s books.
Today I opened the village fete, cutting the ribbon with the traditional giant scissors and making the briefest speech in the history of village fete opening. Wonderful sunny day and everyone helped raise lots of money for the school.
May Day and off to London for an extremely productive working lunch with the Society of Children’s Authors and Illustrators team today, mapping what lays ahead for us after a very successful year.
Thanks to everyone at Crediton library for a fantastic event. The library was full, and the audience came equipped with brilliant questions. I had a wonderful time.
