This is a picture of me (the tall one in the middle) on a visit to a school on the Dorset/Devon coast. One of the best things about being a children's author is school visits. I love talking to the students about books and working with them on their own writing.

I'm an American who travelled to the United Kingdom in her twenties looking for adventure and fell in love with a place and a wonderful man who became my husband.

When I'm not working or spending time with family and friends, I'm often to be found riding a motorcycle - I still love adventure.
